Elegantees is also a proponent of sustainability, using natural fibers, deadstock and leftover fabric, while keeping stock minimal so there is no unnecessary excess or waste. They source sustainably by savings remnants from markets and dyeing high-quality natural fabrics like cotton.
If you’re on the hunt for a chic raincoat, Ilse Jacobsen Hornbæk makes beautiful designs and colorways with rain trousers to match. Their outerwear is unique and they have great down options, most notably a quilted longline down vest, down jacket, and longline puffer coat. All products are checked for nickel and PFAS and are significantly below the permitted limit values. They strive to only work with recycled polyester where possible.
Additionally, Hornbæk places a big emphasis on a roadmap to sustainability and reducing their environmental footprint. Since October 2016, they have converted 100% of electricity purchases for all buildings and installations to renewable and CO2-neutral energy produced by Danish wind and solar power. One of our favorite things about Marine Layer is their dedication to keeping clothes out of landfills through their Re-Spun program that allows you to send in unwanted clothing for a $40 credit towards your purchase, all you have to do is pay as shipping/stocking fee! Through this program, they have saved over 500K items from ending up in landfills and 3.0B gallons of water saved.
